We are an
Easter people and Alleluia is our song. Jesus went through all the pain and
suffering for you and me. The immediate question that arises in my mind is ‘For
what did He do all this?’ This question may also arise in your mind. The answer
is ‘For love’. He loved us so much that He was ready to undergo any amount of
pain, suffering and torture. Where there is love there is sacrifice and where
there is sacrifice there is life. This is the reason why love marriages have so
much life whereas the same has to be developed in an arranged marriage.
The only 2
proofs of the Resurrection of Jesus that I know of are:
1. The stone at the entrance of the tomb
being rolled away.
2. The body of Jesus which went missing
from the tomb and which wasn’t to be found in the tomb.
I suppose
Jesus wasn’t contented with these two proofs/signs; and hence knowing that we
human beings need concrete signs, He appeared to His apostles and others too.
He breathed His spirit on them, spoke to them, broke the bread for them and
also ate with them.
Jesus calls
us too, to be resurrected. He asks us to rise above our ego, selfishness, give
up our routine ways of doing things and be creative in all the things we do
He gives us
3 specific tasks to do:
1. Review : Our Christian life.
2. Renew : Our promises to Him/others.
3. Resurrect : Ourselves into new persons for Him.
