Speech is
silver and silence is golden. Silence and solitude is for all and not only for
monks and hermits. Silence leads you to your own true self; you’ll really know
yourself only when you are silent. Those who are unable to keep silence are
often afraid to face themselves. These people find it difficult to face the
truth.

CONCENTRATION
Concentration
is a power of the will. It brings in wonderful results. Fort Minor
in his song ‘Remember the name’, at one point sings thus, “5% luck, 20% skill,
15% concentrated power of will……….” Concentration and will are like the two sides
of the same coin. For good concentration many factors have to be taken into
consideration like environment, family, health, friendships and so on.
A silent
environment is a boon which enhances concentration, however there are some who
manage to concentrate even in noisy environments. Family plays the role of a
shield in ones life. Family is what all of us cherish and hence I feel that the
better the family life the better will be the quality of concentration.
Health is
wealth as it is said. Concentration of the mind occurs when all other functions
of the body function normally. Hence at times when we get sick we find it
difficult to concentrate. Rest is the best medicine in these moments. Another
aspect that boosts concentration is friendship which is cherished by all.
We have our
own methods of concentrating. We should keep anything that helps us to
concentrate and chunk out anything that doesn’t help us.

LORD, EXAM………
You are the
key to my life, my end and my beginning. I don’t know Lord, what I would do
without You. You have carved me on the palm of Your hand and I know that You
will always treasure me as Your child. O Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, come
and relieve me of all my worries and anxieties. Make my spirit fly and come to
You like a bird that flies to its nest.
Gold and
silver I have none, but what I have is my being given by You which I present
back to You, with a grateful heart. O Lord my God, take me as I am; small,
fragile, broken and prone to evil. Take me and make me an instrument of Your
love and peace.
